Ending the long week with your sister from another mother brings a certain pleasure, which resulted to enjoyable (not to mention fattening) weekend. Nadia (18, Applied Foreign Language student) paid Taipei a 4N3D visit. She went all way from Taichung to Taipei to enjoy the urban atmosphere, cute cafés, and good food, basically everything she couldn't enjoy in Taichung (or so she said but not sure about the good food tho). We spent the whole friday walking around Yong Kang Street. Being a loyal reader of ladyironchef's blog, we decided to follow his recommendation and had our late lunch in Yong Kang beef noodle shop. Fortunately, they had 2 vacant seats when we arrived (albeit it was as crowded as it always is) so we didn't need to queue. The shop was packed with the chatter of both foreigners and locals (and some occasional "Thank you, please come again!" from the owner). We ordered a portion of spicy beef noodle each. The generous portion of chewy noodle and the tender beef made me would've ordered for more, too bad we have to save some space in our belly to try another food. We spent NT$180 each, it was slightly more expensive than most of the beef noodles here in Taipei but it was worth it (recommended by Ladyironchef, duh).

Dessert was next. After getting lost for a few times (excuse my inability to comprehend google maps), we finally reached Yong Kang Street. Yong Kang is basically a paradise street filled with nice cafés and good food, it was quite hard deciding what to eat for dessert but we went to Morita Bakery (also recommended by Ladyironchef). The friendly owner and the smell of freshly baked breads made us left the shop with quite a lot of things on our hand. I bought  5 macarons for NT$320 ($60 each). the owner kindly packaged it in a small transparent ball with cute ribbons for me. Personally, I am not a huge fan of sweets, so I can't say anything about the taste. It doesn't taste bad, but it's so-so for me. the breads were excellent though, the texture's chewy and they tasted great.

Today is Jeff's birthday and we're out to buy him a gift. I'll update soon, x.

turned out that yesterday's sickness was actually not only caused by my unwillingness to get out of bed, plus it was worsen by sleep deprivation, my calculus result (serious) and the excessive consumption of korean banana milk. My midterm result was out and some of them were pretty dissatisfying (hence the post title). I realized I have been slacking off to much lately and I need to fix my habit (one of it includes sleeping at 2 a.m. for no apparent reason). I'm having my IT mid tomorrow and I haven't touched the module yet (number one reason was because they're all in chinese).

School ended at 8 p.m. today. I spent an hour continously pressing 'voice call' on skype to have a proper convo with my friend (the connection sucks big time) and being an excellent procrastinator (encouraged by my friends, they're excellent persuaders) we went straight to try skateboarding afterwards. It was more or less a great stress-reliever, much thanks given to Annie for kindly lending us her newly-bought-skateboard (I am genuinely thankful that it's still in one piece). I fell down and my butt kinda hurts. x

Being sick more or less has its own perks, one of it includes skipping PE class which leads to more time to do laundries, sleep, watch the parent trap and getting your daily dose of vitamin for eyes (re: jacksgap's videos). After feeling better (I suspected my sickness was only caused by the unwillingness to get out of bed since it didn't last that long), I decided to go out and meet my friend for lunch. Realizing it wasn't the appropriate time to have lunch, we decided to walk around for a little bit. The weather was pretty chilly and it kinda made me miss the crispy air of summer which is ironic because I prayed so hard for winter to come earlier exactly a week ago. It's only natural to miss summer when it's winter and vice versa. Lunch break was over and I decided to pay the art studio a quick visit (which turned out to be much longer than I expected). I was supposed to review my civil law while waiting for my my friend to finish her project, but helping her with her artwork seemed more interesting so I bid my textbook goodbye. As I have said, I've always loved the studio despite the mess.
The first artwork was made by Karin (18, communication media design student, that friend I've always mentioned since my very first post) while the later was made by zoe (barely turned 19, also a communication media design student). I've met her a few times before but today was the first time we officially talked to each other (she's so sweet, she'd gave me cavities). I'm very grateful that life was being especially nice to me today. I made new friends and hey, lesson learned today : your day was probably shitty but a smile would really change everything. x

Blame the excellent weather and sunrays for making us rosemary (19, fashion student) inappropriately sleep at 12 p.m. Visiting rosemary's house in the middle of recess resulted to good music, lots of photo-taking and an enjoyable hour of napping on her window porch. I could swear if it wasn't for my our stomaches that grumbled like hungry beasts, we wouldn't move an inch. My attachment to the window porch and its beautiful view was proven still exist seeing how dozy I was even when we're having our lunch. Tracing back our way to the campus, I realized how big Da Zhi is for there are a lot of roads, alleys, and small shops that I am not familiar with.

afternoon turned out to be unbearably cold but we still walked around the campus' A building which is decorated by art student's human-sized (and/or bigger) artwork. I went to rosemary's class afterwards to see her supposed-to-be-collected-long-time-ago assignment. I am now preparing stuff for my moral presentation and mentally crying at the same time because I think I left my heart (and my favorite phone plug) at rosemary's window porch. x

pampering myself with good music and food which pictures I deliberately did not take because you'd be surprised of how gluttonous I am If I did is one out of many ways to heal my ongoing heartache due to my midterm-exam. I still have two more subjects but let's pretend that hell mid-term has ended (another excuse for having tons of snack piling up on my desk). As David Choi has said (or sang), it's a monday and I got so much to do. School being school, they won't give us break even after we finish our mid-term. I went for a morning lecture earlier today and spent the whole 2 hours listening to our lecturer's "oh and that time when I was…wait, let's not talk about that, let's continue on our subject!" on repeat and trying my best not to fall asleep. After the bell rang, we scurried our way out of the classroom as fast as 5-years-old kids chasing an ice cream truck (hey, physically 18 but mentally 8, forever young, get over it). At that moment I realized that summer has finally ended. The weather in taipei is pretty unpredictable (let's pretend I don't have a weather app on my phone) seeing the huge gap of difference between yesterday and today's weather. I had an early dinner in MOS (yay to junk food) and helped myself with a generous portion of typical taiwanese grass-jelly and bobas for dessert. I always eat more than I should and regret the aftereffects (now a constant reminder for me to limit my sugar consumption). there goes my second post, I'm turning in for the night. x

after year of hiatus or basically years of moving on from my 12-years-old-phase and regretting the fact that I've made such an embarrassing blog, I decided to make another blog. more artsy (hopefully) and less embarrassing (certainly). I'm still thinking whether this blog will turn into a food / fashion / photography / art / music (or all five of them simultaneously) blog but it can wait until later. anyway I'm currently helping waiting for my friend to finish her work in our campus' art studio, which is a very interesting place to go to if you exclude the daily dose of excessive dust and occasional visits from rats (not exaggerating). stuck being a business student, my life is pretty much boring, thus the reason of my daily visit to the art studio. I've always felt that I have passion in art. that being said, reality is indeed a harsh place. pursuing your dreams turn out to be a lot harder than what I've expected (cut the convo short, my art portfolio got rejected). Albeit the result is disappointing, I'm now working hard to get a double degree in both business and art, fingers crossed. there goes my first post..

and here's me channeling my inner 5-years old. I'm off to buy KFC now. Oh and I'm meidy but you can call me jake x
